Idaho Pain & Adhesion Therapy
What is Manual Adhesion Release?
Manual adhesion release is a hands-on technique that uses focused pressure and tension to break down adhesions, easing pain and improving movement. It involves locating the adhesion, pressing a thumb or index finger against it, and stretching the tissue to generate a shear force that disrupts it. This method requires precision and a solid grasp of anatomy, with approximately 5–7 pounds of force required to tear the adhesion. It’s like scraping dried gum off a rubber band—press your thumb on the gum and stretch the band underneath to shear it away. Manual adhesion release is one approach to addressing persistent pain and supporting healing.
Adhesion Release Therapy is all-natural, non-invasive, & can act as a risk-free alternative to painful, expensive surgeries.
Instrument Adhesion Release
When adhesion forms near the skin’s surface, a titanium instrument can be used to disrupt it; instrument-assisted adhesion release also helps increase blood flow to tissues with poor circulation, such as tendons.
A common but often overlooked problem is adhesions—bands of tissue that develop within muscles or around nerves, limiting movement and adding strain to nearby areas. Even though they don’t show up on scans, adhesions are surprisingly common and can be treated.

Video testimonial from a patient of Dr. Chris, owner of Barefoot Rehab in Denville, NJ, and founder of the Adhesion Release Method. I am training directly under Dr. Chris at his clinic in New Jersey to become certified in the Adhesion Release Method, enabling me to bring it to Boise and nearby areas to help residents find relief from chronic pain in the Treasure Valley.
